Professionals Academy takes collaboration between family businesses to a new level

Progroup's business model is based on close, trusting collaboration between family businesses. With the Professionals Academy (ProAC), Vinzenz Heindl and his team are taking this family-to-family approach to a new level. The company is part of JH-Holding GmbH, which is also the principal partner of Progroup AG.

“We’re keen to support family-run businesses in our industry and show them exciting ways that they can grow. Ultimately, they are the backbone of the European packaging industry and we want them to stay that way,” says Vinzenz Heindl in summing up the ambition for the Professionals Academy, which was founded in 2021. It is a platform that gives participants the opportunity to engage at an equal level both on topics in the industry and on the specific aspects of running a family business.

Vinzenz Heindl adds value for all the generations in a family of entrepreneurs. The information that ProAc offers is tailored to the needs of each specific generation. The topics are varied and focus on the basic principles of how to run a successful enterprise.

FAMILY BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Basic principle:

Family businesses are consistent drivers of the economy. The primary focus is on achieving success with sound judgement and taking responsibility across the generations. The crossover between the performance of the business with a large amount of family involvement, the commitment to be successful and yet protect assets at the same time can unlock potential and also present challenges.

Potential:

  • Strengths and specific features of family businesses
  • Relevance and aspects of family governance
  • Strategy for generational change
  • Planning and managing generational change

When it comes to evolving and promoting intelligent business models, the Professionals Academy can make a significant contribution as a platform for network intelligence. This is because the family-to-family business is being raised to an entirely new level thanks to the many business intelligence events spanning the different generations. MARKET BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Basic principle:

Understanding the relevant markets and the way they are evolving is crucial for positioning your own company successfully over the long term. In view of the huge flood of data and the abundance of information, identifying and analysing them carefully creates a real competitive advantage.

Potential:

  • Challenges in the packaging industry
  • Trends and developments in the packaging industry
  • Positioning and strategic focus
  • Knowing and understanding customers

The Professionals Academy is looking at the issue of strategy “from paper to box” in its close partnership with Progroup. It is helping its customers to develop long-term market and business strategies right across the value chain. In doing so, it focuses on sustainable, profitable growth for the packaging industry. ENTERPRISE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Basic principle:

Managing an enterprise means taking decisions and considering the consequences. The structure of the organisation needs to fit the business model. The styles of leadership and communication need to be authentic and credible. Processes need to be constantly optimised and adapted to reflect the current circumstances. Knowledge of potential consequences forms the basis for all decisions.

Potential:

  • Adapting the structure of the organisation and business model
  • Implementing business strategies
  • Leadership and conflict resolution within the business
  • Process optimisation in all areas

In addition, the Professionals Academy also acts as a think tank that offers data-driven services, prepares benchmarking and white spot analyses for customers and provides all the knowledge gathered from the value chain.
