Progroup donates 4,000 euros to the St. Josef youth foundation in Landau

Landau, 18 June 2024. Progroup donates 4,000 euros to the St. Josef youth welfare institution in Landau. Jessika Tirandazi, Head of Office Management at Progroup, handed over the donation cheque yesterday to Gabriele Becker, director of the youth foundation, and to Bianka Keller, deputy head of Jakob-Reeb School, in Landau-Queichheim. The intention is that the money will be used here to create more opportunities for the students to get outside and be active during their breaks.

The young people at this location currently lack suitable things to do during their break times. The on-site play area is dilapidated and has been closed for some time. The donation from Progroup will help the people in charge of the youth foundation to create more opportunities for the children and young people to get active outdoors during their breaks. "Exercising in the fresh air trains motor skills and at the same time also supports creativity and problem-solving skills. It's lovely to know that with our donation we can support the project to help create new play and leisure facilities for the children and young people at Jakob-Reeb School," explains Jessika Tirandazi. "When it comes to choosing what to buy, all the students can express their own ideas through their representative on the student council. All requests such as new football goals, a basketball net, new go-karts, etc. are put to a democratic vote," explains Bianka Keller.

The Jakob-Reeb School is a special school that focuses on social and emotional development and is attended at different locations by almost 300 students who have special educational needs. The children are taught in small classes and can be supported from when they first start school to when they graduate and leave – always in combination with an educational offer of support for children and young people.

A tradition of commitment to social causes
Every year, Progroup traditionally holds a tombola for employees, the proceeds of which the company then donates to a good cause. The proceeds raised from the last tombola held at Group Office in Landau were generously topped up by the family company. This meant that a round donation of 4,000 euros could be handed over.

With a number of sites in six European countries, Progroup is well established in many regions and communities in Central Europe. The company always sees itself as a "corporate citizen", as an active member of the community that wants to give something back to the local people. This is why its commitment to charitable causes is an integral part of the company's philosophy. The Landau-based family company is particularly keen to support children and young people.
